Heidi Skiba grew up
in rural Wisconsin
where she spent her
childhood summers exploring
forests and creeks,
catching insects and
frogs. She was never
far from her crayons,
markers and watercolors,
and loved to draw and
create art projects.
It was in these early
years that she laid
the foundation for
a love of art and a
respect and passion
for nature that has
become a major focus
in her life.
Heidi earned a Bachelor's Degree in environmental education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and has spent her adult life in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and California helping people connect with wild places as a park naturalist and a NOLS instructor. She also has an obsession for hiking, backpacking, rock climbing and skiing that frequently takes her into the wilderness. Self-taught, Heidi uses watercolor, block prints, and pen-and-ink to capture the wild places that are the inspiration for her art. Be sure to check
out Heidi's blog to learn more about the creation process. Prints, notecards, and commissioned works are available for sale. Please send an email to heidi@wildernessink.com for more information. |
